Recently, I had been feeling more and more awkwardly… I believe I may have been infected by virus… something that they call – Photography virus! With all enthusiasm and countless clicks of shutters, I decided and go ahead to put it into something more beneficial.

Not too long ago, I covered a company’s annual dinner in a reputable hotel down town and here’s a snapshot of the coverage.

“What’s that red color thread on your wrist~”

After coming back from my Cambodia trip, many have been asking me these – “What’s that red color thread on your wrist~?”, “Did you just got it from some temple?”, “Do they come in different colors and sizes?”, “What’s the meaning of you tying it around your left wrist?”, “Can you help to get one for me too?” and various type of questions. Last but not least.. “Do you guys really need to burn it, mix it with water and drink it down?”…..

A mix of answers to some of the above Qs, it’s basically a prove of coincidence that I came across inside Angkor Wat temple. Passing through the many arches inside the temple, we stopped at this relatively dark corner where an old lady was sitting there, offering a token of blessing in the symbol of this red colored thread, all for the return of just a kind simple gesture.. It had been a fine year since. = ]

2: The Fall & Rise of Khmer Empire

Being notified by the local low-cost carrier about their latest blockbuster promotion sometime ago, I swiftly secured the return tickets to and from Cambodia for my next trip. Planning of the itinerary was soon underway.

Not long after, the departure date arrived.

Some may see it and ask why. Some see it when the opportunity arises and say why not, especially when it’s RM0* (and better still, flying the Man Utd way!). ; )

Arriving in Siem Reap International Airport (SRIA), the Angkorian flavor is instantly sampled from their artistic structure to sculptures. First impression tells me that “This will be a worthy trip..”.

After a quick check-in at the hotel booked over the Internet, I am on my way to the first landmark for the day, Cambodia’s ecological hotspot, the Tonlé Sap system.

Carrying the translated meaning of “Great Lake”, Tonlé Sap is not only the largest freshwater lake in South East Asia, but it also contributes to over 75% of Cambodia’s annual inland fish catch, serving as one of the country’s main protein and commercial resources.

Paid for our ride, hopped on the boat, untied the knot, and we are all set for our 2 hours Tonlé Sap Boat ride…

After a day of walking, climbing, and more walking, we finally set foot at a place with “all-you-can-eat” Khmer food and beverage + eventful Classical Dance. = )

In a normal bus ride from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh, an average bus load of passengers, and a normal trip break was eventually accompanied with an exotic culture…
